Zongxi Yi, 89, of Rutherford passed away on November 14, 2020. Born in Hechuan, Sichuan, China, she came to the US in 1990 and lived in Piscataway before settling in Rutherford in 1996.

Zongxi was a Professor of Education of the Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, China, where she worked for over 30 years before retiring. She was one of the scholars who pioneered the education economics study in China and the major author of the classic book "Education Economics Tutorial" (published 1988).

Devoted mother of Shuang Chen of Somers, NY and Jennifer Chen of Holmdel. Loving grandmother of 4 grandchildren.
