Jose "Willie" Vargas, 77, of Clifton passed away on March 30, 2023. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, he traveled to the mainland in 1953 and settled in Passaic before moving to Clifton. Willie worked as a machinist for ACME Gear Co., Englewood, for 20 years before retiring in 2008. A parishioner of St. Brendan RC Church, Clifton, Willie enjoyed reading, he was a craftsman, mechanic, and a jack of all trades. He was also a huge fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Jets and loved watching college football and college basketball. He loved to garden and enjoyed spending time in nature and most of all, spending time with his family.

Beloved husband for 55 years of Margarita (Pagan) Vargas. Devoted father of Arlene Montanez and her husband Alex, and Dilcia White and her husband Joseph. Loving grandfather of Courtney, Joseph, Nichole and Alex. Cherished great grandfather of Gianna. Dear brother of Paul, Norma, Mary and Nancy. Willie will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visiting Monday 8 – 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Service 10 AM at St. Brendan RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.

José "Willie" Vargas, de 77 años, de Clifton falleció el 30 de Marzo de 2023. Nacido en Isabela, Puerto Rico, viajó a los Estados Unidos en el 1953 y se instaló en Passaic antes de mudarse a Clifton. Willie trabajó como maquinista para ACME Gear Co., Englewood, durante 20 años antes de jubilarse en 2008. Un feligrés de St. Brendan RC Church, Clifton, a Willie le gustaba leer, era artesano, mecánico y un experto en todos los oficios. También era un gran admirador de los NY Yankees y los NY Jets y le encantaba ver el fútbol universitario y el baloncesto universitario. Le encantaba la jardinería y disfrutaba pasar tiempo en la naturaleza y, sobre todo, pasar tiempo con su familia.

Amado esposo por 55 años de Margarita (Pagan) Vargas. Padre devoto de Arlene Montanez y su esposo Alex, y de Dilcia White y su esposo Joseph. Amoroso abuelo de Courtney, Joseph, Nichole y Alex. Querido bisabuelo de Gianna. Querido hermano de Paul, Norma, Mary y Nancy. Willie será extrañado por sus muchas sobrinas y sobrinos.
