Wagner W.
Larsen, Iii
August 28, 2025
Wagner Larsen, III., 56, passed away on August 28, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Bushwick for many years before moving to Passaic in the summer of 1970. In 2015, after he retired, he moved to Christiansted, St. Croix, USVI. Wagner worked as a police officer for the Passaic Police Department for 23 years before retiring as a detective.
Growing up in Passaic, he attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Grade School, Passaic, and Pope Paul VI High School, Clifton. Always a Passaic boy, Wagner was a fun-loving man that enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was generous to a fault and was always willing to help others. Wagner treated his parents to family trips, ball games, and even gifted his car, a "grand national", to his father. He honored his mother and father and he celebrated his family; that is the kind of character he was made of.
Wagner was, above all, an "old school" family man. He had exceptional respect for his elders, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He loved his children and when he became a grandfather to "Neko" he was so proud and so quick to share pictures of him and tell everyone the latest news of him. Wagner, as all men, had his faults, but he always tried to do the right thing.
Devoted father of Kiana Inez Larsen and Hailey Tiffany Larsen and step-father of Mariah Alvarez and Celeste Torres. Adored grandfather of Neklaus Redd Larsen. Dear brother of Ed Rivera and his wife Sandy. Cherished uncle of Edgar Mikel Rivera and his wife Walsy, Tyler Rivera and his wife Andrea, Brianna Rivera, and Jayson, Jonathan, Jose, Jaynise and Janilette Velez.
Visiting will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4 – 8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 8:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Prayers will begin promptly at 9 AM. Interment will follow at The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
