Vladimir "Val" Kopetz, 84, of Clifton, passed away on September 26, 2020. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, he lived most of his life in Clifton.
A US Navy Veteran during peacetime, Val worked on the maintenance staff at Sears in Wayne for 23 years, and was a Custodial Supervisor for 12 years at the Clifton High School, retiring in 2006. An active member of Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, Clifton, Val was a member of the choir, served on various church committees, and was a former President of the Parish Council.
Beloved husband of the late Lillian (Felix) who passed away in 2012. Devoted father of Susan Golbek and her husband Eric of Pompton Plains, Judith Whalen of Laurel, Maryland, and Marianne Kopetz of Rutherford. Loving grandfather of Megan, Ryan, Lindsey and Jacob. Dear brother of Anna Holick of Clifton, Lovey Kopetz of Walton, NY, and the late John and Alexander Kopetz, Mary Kulick and Eva Sedlar.
Funeral Saturday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, 35 Orange Ave., Clifton, NJ 07013, in memory of Vladimir, would be greatly appreciated.
