Virginia P. Greene, 91, formerly of Toms River and Nutley, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, after a brief illness. She had been residing at the Cliffs at Eagle Rock, West Orange, for the past few years. She was born and raised in Kearny and worked at Worthington Pump in Harrison before marrying and moving to Nutley to raise a family. During the 40 years she lived in Nutley, she was active in the community, with involvement in volunteer work, scouting, and her church, St. Paul's Congregational Church, Nutley. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, bowling, and bridge.

She and her husband Warren moved to Toms River in 1991, where they remained active for many years. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Warren T. Greene, her parents, Bertram and Virginia Platt, and her brothers, William Reithmuller and Howard Platt. Surviving are her children; a son David, and a daughter, Janet.

Visitation Tuesday 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Morning Visitation on Wednesday beginning at 10AM with a funeral service at 10:30AM at the funeral home. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
