Vasilios Georgios
Kluginiotis
April 17, 2021
Vasilios Kluginiotis, 63, of Parsippany, departed this life on April 17, 2021. He was born on September 23, 1957 in Xilokastron, Greece.
Vasilios left his home country of Greece, his family and everything he knew at the young age of 13. He traveled to the Bahamas; there he started working on the Cruise Ships. He began as a busboy, then server, line cook, eventually taking Head Chef. There he mastered the art of Sauté. He took these skills to Miami, FL, and then New Jersey; and back and forth again. The talent Vasilios carried in Culinary Skill while only formally possessing an 8 th grade education overseas; excelled him to own, co-own and help contribute to and build many different diners from NJ to FL. After enduring major health complications he could no longer stand long hours and was forced to leave his life's passion; however that did not stop him. Vasilios then took on taxi and limousine services maintaining long hours and enduring four hour dialysis sessions three days a week.
Vasilios was married in 1987, from his marriage produced his three children; Lemonia, Georgios and Alexandros Kluginiotis. Vasilios was a dedicated and determined father. He fell ill nearly twenty three years ago, suffering with renal failure and suffering a triple bypass heart attack. Evading and constantly battling through six month life expectancies, blessed with miracle comebacks. Through these difficult and constant battles with his health, his marriage failed. Custody of his children went back and forth for most of the duration of the children's youth. Vasilios, battling renal and congestive heart failure, and not remotely being groomed to care for his children on his own carried a heavy plate that his health didn't always allow for. It was very difficult for him and still he maintained his presence, he provided, kept consistency and he honored his duty as a father and granted his children; with their testimony to the grandest love. His daughter Lemonia produced to him five grandchildren; Tremel, Jasmine, Vadel, Vasilios and Jayceon. Jasmine went on to produce to him a great grandchild, Jazelle. Vasilios was a caring loving grandfather to all of his grandchildren deeply impacting their lives. He enjoyed more than anything the company of his grandchildren and great grandchild. And they enjoyed more than anyone their loving Papou, or as their uncles, mother, all the communities they'd resided in and friends called him "Baba".
Vasilios took pride in cooking for various Greek Orthodox Churches including Clifton's St. George's and visiting the Greek Orthodox Monastery in PA in his later years. Vasilios was a talented competitor from the soccer field to the pool hall. He enjoyed sharing soccer with his nephews, Thodoris and Adonis Konstantinou and Georgios Mousis. Outside of his human family there was no greater love than for his dog and great companion "Brooklyn".
He is predeceased by his mother Lemonia Kluginiotis and his father Gergios Kluginiotis.
He is survived by his daughter Lemonia Kluginiotis of Dover, NJ, his son Georgios Kluginiotis of Butler, NJ, his son Alexandros Kluginiotis of Parsippany, NJ, His Koumparo Kosmas Bessas of Nutley, and loving friend Kosta. He leaves his sisters Eleni Mousis and Sofia Konstantinou; his grandchildren Tremel J. Lonon, Jasmine D. Bullock, Vasilios A. Kluginiotis, and Jayceon Ermias Kluginiotis, his great granddaughter Jazelle A. Bullock, His godchildren Micheal Bessas and Sofia Dontas, his cousins Eleni and Louie Giokas their children Arieta and Panagioti, and many other cousins and adopted family.
