Obituary

Vasil "Charles" Kormanik, 90, of Paramus, passed away on August 21, 2014. Born in Jarabina, Czechoslovakia, he came to the US in 1964 and lived in Cliffside Park before moving to Paramus 19 years ago. A parishioner of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Passaic, Charles worked for J.P. Morgan in New York City for many years as well as US Steel, retiring in 1986. Beloved husband for 65 years of the late Anna (Kormanik) who passed away August 6, 2014. Devoted father of Charles "Vasil" , and Ivan and his wife Margaret, all of Paramus. Loving grandfather of Jessika and Michael. Dear brother of Terka Michna of Queens, Joseph Kormanik and Olga Valko, both of the Czech Republic, and the late Mikolaj, Michal, Maria and Vano. Funeral Monday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Michael's Cathedral, Passaic. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Sunday 3-9 PM at the funeral home, Parastas at 4 PM.
