Valarie Gentile, 58, of Toms River passed away on April 24, 2026. Born in Passaic, she lived most of her life in the Passaic and Clifton area before settling in Toms River 3 years ago. Valarie worked as a teacher for the Passaic Board of Education, Passaic, for 25 years before retiring. A parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Valarie enjoyed cooking, being active with her grandson, and walking the Seaside Heights boardwalk with family.

Devoted mother of Justin Gentile. Cherished grandmother of Andrew. Daughter of Judith (Paz) Gentile and the late Andrew Gentile. Valarie will be greatly missed by her furry companion Holly.

Visiting Tuesday, April 28, 4 – 8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton Funeral Wednesday, April 29, 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Cremation will be private.
