Thomas M. Bartlo, 88 of Wallington passed away on June 23, 2011. Born Thomas Marion Barthlomieczk on April 20, 1923 to the late Marion Barthlomieczyk and Julia (Gogh) and was a lifelong resident of Wallington. Thomas was a parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul's Polish National Catholic Church, Passaic. A decorated Army Veteran of WW II, Thomas was a Sergeant with the 101st Combat Engineers and served in the Battle of the Bulge under General George S. Patton and received an Honorable Discharge in 1945, and was a member of Pavlik-Koster VFW Post # 2640, Wallington. Thomas served as a Wallington Police Officer from 1948 to 1958. He became an entrepreneur and innovator in the field of packaging with polymer films. His career began with Lynch Robo Corporation and continued with M&M Mars. In the 1960's he established PolyPack and later founded Bartlo Packaging Inc. in Passaic in 1973, as well as BPS, Inc. in 1992 with offices in Arkansas and Missouri, and was a well respected businessman. A kind generous simple man that enjoyed everyday and touched many lives. Beloved father of Joyce Cevetello and her husband Louis, Gale Furtak and her husband Walter, and Sharon Robie and her husband William. Loving grandfather of Devon, Michael, Louis, Robert, Vincent and Billy. Dear brother of Mary, Jenny, Ben, Walter, Wanda and John. Funeral Saturday 10:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 11 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul's PNC Church, Passaic. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
