Obituary

Theodosios “Theo” Peppes, a lifelong resident of Clifton, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Passaic, Theo was a successful, self-made property owner and real estate manager throughout the Passaic County area. Widely known as a “real estate guru,” he was admired for his extensive knowledge, strong business instincts, and many accomplishments.

Theo was also an avid race car driver and a beloved fixture in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racing community. A passionate and respected competitor, he raced successfully in the Spec Racer Ford, F2000, and F1600 series. His love of racing and competitive spirit were an important part of his life.

Theo had a deep love for cats and dogs and rescued many over the years, providing each one with the care, safety, and affection they deserved.

Theo was the devoted son of Dionysia (Sougelas) Peppes and the late Alexandros Peppes; loving brother of John Peppes and his wife, Katherine (Pittas), the late Evanthia Peppes, and Nicholas Peppes and his wife, Susann (Wissen); and cherished uncle of Alexander Peppes.

Visiting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Clifton. Interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations made to Tabby's Place: a Cat Sanctuary, www.TabbysPlace.org, in Theo's memory would be greatly appreciated.
