Steven John Kalan, 75, of Clifton, passed away on July 24, 2012. Born in New York City, he lived most of his life in Clifton. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Steven was an Army Veteran during peacetime. Before retiring, Steven was a Contractor and longtime member of the NJ Carpenter's Union in Paterson, as well as a CB Radio Operator known as "Hammer Head". Beloved husband for 53 years of the late Josephine (Kwiatek), who passed away in 2011. Devoted father of Steven Michael and his wife Nora of Clifton, and John and his wife Laura of Butler. Loving grandfather of Colleen, Steven, Michelle and Zachary. Dear brother of Zoltan of FL. Funeral Saturday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
