Stephen "Steve" Lucas, age 59 of Franklin, New Jersey passed away on October 13, 2022. He was born on October 20, 1962 in Passaic, New Jersey to George and Mary Lucas. Stephen was the youngest of six children. He resided in Clifton, New Jersey and graduated from Clifton High School in 1980 where he played on the varsity football team and the varsity lacrosse team. His love of sports, which included the Dallas Cowboys from a young age, continued throughout his life, and his desire to participate in a sport led him to the passion of golf at age 30. He used that passion to study all aspects of golf, which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. It also led him to part-time work at Crystal Springs Golf Resort for 15 years where he served as a marshal and trained beginning golfers in the fundamentals.
Stephen worked for Coca-Cola Corporation and Staples Corporation serving North New Jersey and New York City. Prior to his death Stephen worked for CN Logistics.
Stephen is survived by his brothers and sisters; Mary Ann Leone and husband Kenneth, George and wife Trudy, John and wife Linda, Teresa Kasper and husband Joseph, Paul and wife Maureen.
Stephen is also survived by Tracey Jaworski-Lucas and step sons, Justin and Steven.
Stephen will always be missed by all his nieces and nephews; Susan Miller and husband Adam, Michael Leone, Jonathan Leone and wife Stephanie, Julie Barnes and husband Andrew, Tara Owens, Jeffrey Lucas, Jillian Butchello and husband Dominic, Chris Kapasakis, and Daniel Lucas.
He will also be truly missed by his five great nieces, six great nephews, and numerous cousins, as well as many friends and associates.
The family would like to thank Compassionate Care and care givers Justin, Barbara, and Tracey for the loving care they gave Stephen.
