Stephen D. Gensinger, 88, of Newton passed away on August 2, 2024. Born in Passaic, he was raised, married, and resided in Clifton before moving to Nyack, NY, North Palm Beach, FL, and Middletown, NY, and then settled in beautiful Sussex County, NJ.

An alumnus of Clifton Highschool, Stephen was always the life of the party and loved to surround himself with people from all walks of life. Some of the things he loved was traveling the globe. As a yachtsman, he owned many boats and was an avid fisherman. Stephen also loved to race stock cars.

He was raised in the automotive industry and was the general manager in the family's automotive business. He worked at numerous struggling car dealerships to turn them around and make them more profitable.

Stephen was predeceased by his parents Stephen J. and Jane Gensinger.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley Gensinger and Joanne Gensinger. Devoted father of Phyllis Miller of Vernon, Michael Gensinger of Nyack, NY, Heidi Gensinger of Glenwood, David Gensinger of Clifton, and the late Stephen and Alyse Gensinger. Loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Kenneth Gensinger of Clifton, Janet Luke of Palm Beach, FL and the late Donald J. Gensinger.

Visiting Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 4-7 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Prayer service will begin at 6:30 PM. Cremation will be private.
