Stefanie Szewczyk's Obituary
Stefanie (Dul) Szewczyk, 89, of Clifton, passed away on October 10, 2015. Born in Poland, she came to the US in 1965 and lived in Passaic before moving to Clifton 32 years ago.
Stefanie was also a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church, Passaic and later, of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, where she was a member of the St. John Kanty Leisure Club and the Polish Rosary Society. Stefanie owned and operated Garfield Bakery, a family business on Hope Ave., Passaic, throughout the 1970's. She also worked for Prescott Co., Passaic for 13 years, retiring 29 years ago.
Beloved wife of the late Jan Szewczyk who passed away in 1970. Devoted mother of Richard of Lyndhurst, William of Wayne, Irene Gutkowski of Clifton, Mary Bajek of Pequannock, Diane Bogush of Wallington, Stasia Szewczyk of Clifton, and the late Teddy who passed away in 1966. Loving grandmother of Ronald, Darlene, Stephanie, Robert, Adam, Andrew, Richard, Michelle, John, Victoria, Diana, James and the late Donna. Cherished great grandmother of Daniel, Matthew, Ela, Andre, Michael, Sade, Jaden and Desiree. Dear sister of Jan Dul and the late Julia Ratkowski.
Funeral Wednesday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
