Obituary

Stanley A. Kobylarz, 86, of Clifton passed away on July 3, 2015. Born in Garfield, the son of Eva and Adam Kobylarz, he resided there before moving to Clifton 53 years ago. He served in the US Army with the occupational forces in Japan after WWII and received an Honorable Discharge. Stanley went on to graduate from Lehigh University and also earned a MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked for 40 years for BAE, Wayne (formerly Singer Kearfott), where he retired as their Manager of Publications, Presentations and Graphics in 1991. A faithful parishioner of St. Paul RC Church, Clifton, he served as a past president and financial secretary of the Holy Name Society and member of the Leisure Club. Actively involved for most of his lifetime with the Chopin Singing Society, he served as the president, vice president, financial secretary and director. Stanley also served as the delegate to the 7th District Polish Singers Alliance of America and as director, vice president and financial secretary of the Polish American Cultural Center. Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife Stephanie A. (Kalemba) Kobylarz in 2014 after 59 years of marriage. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Frederick and Emil Kobylarz. Beloved father of Stanley, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Bricktown, Michael and his wife Alice of Little Falls, and Kristine Marshall and her husband Robert of Bel Air, MD. Devoted grandfather of Jason, Alexa, Michael, Cara and Thomas. Dear brother of Thaddeus Kobylarz of Morristown. Funeral Wednesday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, &10 AM at St. Paul RC Church. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the St. Paul's Elevator Fund, 231 2nd Street, Clifton, NJ 07011, in Stanley's memory would be greatly appreciated.
