Sophie (Urbanik) Rurak, 91, of Clifton, passed away on February 3, 2016. Born in Nisko, Poland, she came to the US in 1959 and settled in Clifton.

A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Sophie was a Senior Technician in the Research Dept. of Hoffmann-LaRoche in Nutley for 14 years, retiring in 1988, and was a member of the SJK Golden Circle.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony who passed away in 1974. Devoted mother of Stephen Rurak of Falls Church, VA, Mary Ciniewicz of Rockaway and her late husband Richard who passed away in 1993, Andy Rurak of Chicago, IL, and Ann Bain and her husband Robert of Nutley. Loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Saturday 8 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Friday 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
