Sophie (Kits) Messina, 86, of Clifton passed away on September 14, 2019. Born in Hicksville, NY, Sophie was a lifelong resident of Clifton, and was a parishioner of St. Brendan's RC Church, Clifton. A Proud US Navy Veteran, Sophie served in the WAVES during WWII. Sophie worked as a banquet manager at the Palasadium, Fort Lee, for over 20 years before retiring.

Beloved wife for 59 years of the late Peter Messina who passed away earlier this year. Devoted mother of Michael Messina, Dr. Matthew Messina, Dr. Marcy Jean Messina and Marc Peter Messina. Cherished grandmother of Maggie Rose and Peter John Messina. Loving sister of Lorraine "Tootsie" Kits.

Visiting Friday 4–8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Cremation Private.
