Sophie Hurey, 90, of Clifton, passed away on February 19, 2025. Born in Ludwika Kufka, Poland, she came to the US in 1948 and lived in Wallington, Passaic and Clifton. A parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church, Passaic, Sophie worked for Plutronic Seals in Clifton for 20 years, retiring in 1994. Sophie enjoyed cooking, gardening, baking and crocheting.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony Hurey who passed away in 2009. Devoted mother of John Hurey and his late wife Nancy, Richard Hurey and Thomas Hurey. Loving grandmother of John Hurey and his wife Jasmine, Ellie Fisher and her husband Justin, Paul Hurey and his wife Lorena, Rebecca Davis and her husband Andrew, Andrew Hurey and his wife Ariel, and Mark Hurey and his wife Bobbie. Cherished great grandmother of Samson, Cooper, Eva, Henry, Iris, Paul Sophie, Stephanie, David, Anderson, Cora, Charlie and Joey. Dear sister of the late John and Joseph Englot.

Visiting Thursday, February 27, 2025, 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave, Clifton. Funeral Friday, February 28, 2025, 9:45 AM at the funeral home and 11 AM at St. Joseph RC Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
