Sophie (Zurawski) Gennaro, 92 of Las Vegas, formerly of Passaic, passed away on February 16, 2012. Born in Passaic, she lived there most of her life, before moving to Las Vegas 10 years ago. A former parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Passaic, Sophie served in the Women's Army Corp (WAC) with the US Army during WW II. Sophie was a Claims Examiner with the NJ State Unemployment Office in Passaic for many years, retiring in 1989. Beloved wife of the late Arthur who passed away in 1980. Devoted mother of Ronald, and Arthur, Ret. Passaic Police Captain, and his wife Gail, all of Las Vegas. Loving grandmother of 4 granddaughters and 8 great grandchildren.
