Sophie (Stepien) Cole, 87, of Clifton, passed away on November 30, 2017. Born in Passaic she was a lifelong resident of the Passaic/Clifton area.
A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Sophie was a member of the Golden Circle and Loaves and Fishes at SJK, and the Senior Program at Felician College. Before retiring in 1993, Sophie was a Sales Associate for Philco Lingerie in Garfield for 20 years.

Beloved wife of the late George A. Smith and the late Philip Cole. Devoted mother of Mary Ellen Shakoor of Totowa, Robert Smith and his wife Marlene of North Port, FL, and Brian Smith and his wife Anne of NYC. Dear sister of Jane Guscioria of Clifton. Loving grandmother of Holly Fleischer and her husband Ruben, Adam and Jill Shakoor. Cherished great grandmother of Jack Lila and Goldie.
Funeral Saturday 8:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9:30 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Entombment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 3-7 PM at the funeral home.
