Slawoj J. Rakowski's Obituary
Slawoj J. Rakowski, 73, of Clifton, passed away on August 5, 2022. Born in Poland, he came to the US in 1973 and lived in Wallington before moving to Clifton.
Sławoj, most commonly known as "Steve", was a helping hand to anyone who asked. He had an infectious laugh, loveable sense of humor and his witty Polish jokes will be missed. Slawoj was a plumber and maintenance mechanic for Becton Dickinson in East Rutherford and Franklin Lakes for the past 20 years.
Beloved father of Isabella Rakowski and her loving partner Lucas Hughes of Clifton, and Monica Shudtz and her husband Charles of Mendham. Loving grandfather of Charles Steven, Trevor and Reed. Dear brother of Mirek Rakowski and his wife Ania of Poland.
Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Best friend of Marian Kordys, who he enjoyed many fishing trips with.
He will be missed by many, especially his furry best friends, Brody, Lucky and Bear, aka Blackie.
Visiting Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Wednesday 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Cremation will be private.
