Funeral services for Sister Mary Anita Janucik will be held at the Felician Sisters' Immaculate Conception Convent Chapel, Lodi, New Jersey at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012. Sister Anita will then be laid to rest in the Felician Sisters' Cemetery. Sister Mary Anita died on January 26, 2012 in Lodi. She was 81 years old and had been a Felician Sister for 64 years. A Wake Service with Evening Prayer will be held at Immaculate Conception Chapel on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. The former Christine Marie Janucik, Sister Mary Anita was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1930. She entered the postulancy of the Felician Sisters in Lodi, New Jersey in 1947; received the Felician habit in 1948; professed her first vows in 1949 and final vows in 1955. Sister Mary Anita was a classroom instructor in the primary grades for about 10 years. The major part of her religious life was spent in healthcare ministry: three decades at Saint Joseph Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a nurse, department supervisor and administrator; two decades at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey as a patient representative. Sister Mary Anita is mourned by her sister Ann Zmroczek of Reading, Pennsylvania and by members of her extended family, professional colleagues and friends.
