Sister Mary Amadeus. Funeral services for Sister Mary Amadeus Lewicka will be held at Immaculate Conception Chapel, 260 South Main St., Lodi, at 10:30 AM on Monday morning, December 20, 2010. Following the Mass of Christian Burial, Sister will be laid to rest in the Felician Sisters Cemetery in Lodi. Sister Mary Amadeus died December 14, 2010 in Our Lady of Lourdes Health Center, Lodi.

She was 88 years old and had been a Felician Sister for 71 years. A wake service will be held at the same location on Sunday evening, December 19 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will take place at Immaculate Conception Chapel from 3 PM to 8 PM on Sunday. The former Florence Lewicka, Sister Mary Amadeus was born in Sayreville in 1922. She entered the postulancy of the Felician Sisters in Lodi in 1939, and received the Felician habit in 1940. She made first religious vows in 1941 and professed final vows in 1947. Sister Amadeus held many important positions in the Felician Congregation: Minister General, Provincial Minister, Principal of Immaculate Conception High School, etc.

Sister Mary Amadeus is survived by her brother Arthur Lewicki of Texas and her sister Sylvia Valentino of Maryland and members of her extended family.
