Obituary

SHEILA LORRAINE (GALBREATH) RICKS passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 16, 1947 to the late Woodrow and Ariel Lena Galbreath. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Ricks, sisters Diane Galbreath, Joyce Miller and Patricia Lantz and stepson Ricky Ricks.

Sheila spent her early childhood years in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island due to her father's many Navy assignments. She graduated from Montclair High School, Drake College of Business and Morris County College in New Jersey and Lexington Technical Institute in Kentucky. Sheila was employed at Monroe Calculator before moving to Lexington, Kentucky with her husband. She retired following more than 12 years as Senior Human Resources Management Advisor at Pulse Industries.

She was an avid traveler having been to China, Alaska, and much of Europe and enjoyed touring the New England States with her forever partner John Schuler. She enjoyed her Corvette with the license plate that read 2AHSOME and was overwhelmed when she toured the world's first nuclear powered submarine, the Nautilus, on which her father was a crew member. She was totally devoted to her family and friends and found no hesitancy in sharing anything she could, while staying in constant contact with just about everyone.

She is survived by her sister Juanita Gibson (Thomas) brother Ponie Sistrunk Jr (Sallie), stepdaughter Rhonda and stepson Bobby Ricks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, forever partner John and friends throughout the country. Sheila will never be gone from us, as she will forever be in our hearts and minds.
