Serafina Longano, 93 years old of Passaic NJ, died on Monday July 7, 2025. Serafina was born in Molise, Italy to Nicolina DiPaola and Antonio Spina and was part of the post-World War II Italian diaspora leading her to live in Australia, Canada, and eventually the United States for the past 65 years.

Serafina was a seamstress extraordinaire and was a member of the ILGWU for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, with every year producing lush beautiful vegetables and enough tomatoes to store as canned sauce for years. She was a hard worker, great cook perfecting family recipes, a creative problem solver, and most importantly a generous, loving mother and grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She especially enjoyed her frequent chats with her sister Carmela Romano. All of us have been blessed by her presence and the time we spent with her and she is truly missed.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Domenico Longano on February 19, 1996. She is survived by her loving children Paul Longano, Carmela Skillman and her husband Gregory, by her dear grandchildren Alexa Longano, Nicole Longano, David Skillman and his wife Sarah, Maria Skillman and her husband James Patteson, and her great-grandchildren, Della, Owen, and Cary.
