Selimhan "Mitchell" Babaoglu, 69, of Clifton, passed away on July 6, 2020. Born on February 20, 1951 in Milan, Italy, Mitchell immigrated to the United States with his family in November, 1951.

He grew up in Newark in the North Ward and attended Barringer High School. He was a self-made man who operated a candy store on Cutler Street for many years before working for Sears/Roebuck in the mattress division. He was a bachelor, beloved by women, a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, an active member of the 8 ^th Ward Social Club, a gourmet of Italian food and a regular customer of Luigi's Restaurant, and a communicant at St. Lucy's RC Church, Newark.

Beloved brother of Rehim "Ray" of Memphis, TN, and Kerim of Hilton Head Island, SC.

Funeral Services were private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
