Sarla Abrol, 93, of Lodi, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025.

Born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1932, Sarla spent much of her life in Delhi, India where she married and lovingly raised three children. In the late 1980s, she immigrated to the United States, where she built a new life in NJ rooted in family and quiet resilience.

Sarla worked as a dedicated sales associate at Stern's in Paramus for 15 years before retiring. Beyond her work, she was the heart of her family—their matriarch and guiding light. She found joy in cooking traditional meals for her loved ones, sewing, watching her favorite game shows, and taking walks.

Her sharp common sense, unwavering loyalty to her children, and strong sense of justice defined her spirit. With a life spanning three countries and two continents, Sarla leaves behind a legacy of strength, care, and enduring devotion.

She was the beloved wife of the late Prem Prakash Abrol (who passed in 2009). A devoted mother to Neeru Kumar (who passed in 2013), Neeta Abrol, and Raj Abrol, a cherished grandmother to Rebecca Kumar, and a proud great-grandmother to Sahura Weems. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Usha Setia and Tripta Sethi.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.

Sarla's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
