Salvatore "Sal" Pittari,
79,
of Passaic passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born on August 27,1938 in Sicily coming to the United States in 1948 settling in Passaic where he lived his entire life.
A US army veteran he proudly served his country in 1961-1967 stationed in Germany. Sal was a heavy
equipment operator and
general laborer in union Locals 472 and 172. After retirement he put his carpentry skills to good use by helping others through his work as a handyman - there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or anyone he wouldn't help. Sal enjoyed vintage cars, listening to 50's music, spending time with his family and enjoyed being with his friends at The Boathouse in Passaic.
In Sal's true spirit of giving to others, he leaves behind the life-saving benefit of tissue and skin donation via the NJ Sharing Network.

who passed away in 2010.
Sal was also predeceased by his parents Basilio and Antonina and brothers Carmelo and Joseph. He is survived by his devoted sisters, Ros

Lo Cascio and Carmela Miragliotta and his loving nieces and nephews. Sal will also be missed by his two pet cats, Kitty and Lucky.
Visiting Saturday, January 13, 2018, 11AM to 1 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation will be private.
