Sabina (Falcon) Tavares, 99, of Jersey City passed away on April 7, 2025. Born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, she traveled to the US in 1946 and first lived in New York, NY, she later lived in Passaic and Rockaway for many years before moving to Jersey City. Sabina worked as a nurse's aide for St. Joseph's Medical Center, Paterson, for 15 years before retiring in 1991.

Beloved wife for 68 years of the late Julio Tavares who passed away in 2018. Devoted mother of Virginia "Jeannie" Krostek and her husband Richard of Mendham and Evelyn Nikolayew and her husband Nick of Rockaway. Loving grandmother of Nicholas, Jr.  and his wife Debbie, Michael and his companion Kane, Laura and her companion Valerio, Richard, Jr. and his wife Jessica and Jaclyn and her husband Adam. Cherished great-grandmother of Max, Dean, Sydney and Chase. Dear sister of Frances Quintero and the late Antonio, Asuncion, Dolores, Helen, Natividad, Victoria, Pedro, Eladio, Patricia, Victor, Celia, Luciano, Alfonso, Christiano.

Visiting Wednesday, April 9, 2025, 4 – 8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Thursday, April 10, 2025, 8:15 AM at the funeral home and 9:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Cremation is private.
