Rudolph, "Rudy" Johansky, 94, of Lauderhill, Fl. passed away on August 31, 2011. Born in 1917 in Westfield, MA, he grew up as a child in Passaic and later moved with his wife Anna to Garfield and then to Clifton. They retired to Florida in 1973. The Johansky Family were parishioners of St. Michael's Catholic Cathedral in Passaic for 25 years and later St. Basil Church in Miami. He was an active community member. Rudy, as his friends called him was stationed in England during WWII. He attained the rank of Sergeant T/4. Rudy was a member of the Rosol-Dul American Legion Post # 359, Passaic for 26 years. Later he became an officer and Life Member of American Legion Post # 92 and a member of DAV Chapter 41, both in Hollywood, FL. Rudy was employed at Raybestos Manhattan Rubber Co. as a tool and die maker and machinist for 36 years. Thru his lobbying efforts, Rudy was implemental in the enactment of a guaranteed pension law, which was signed into effect in 1973 by Governor William Cahill. He will be sorrowfully missed for his generosity, good will, and honesty. Beloved father of Peter and his wife Jane of Verona, Loving grandfather of Nicholas, and Alicia Clapper and her husband Thomas. Dear brother of Henry of Naples, FL.
