Roy Hibberd, 90, of Freehold, passed away on July 6, 2017. Born in Lyndhurst, he lived in Rutherford, and Clifton for 64 years, before moving to Freehold 2 years ago.
A US Navy Veteran on the USS Dauphin, during WW II, Roy was a 71 year member of the American Legion Post # 139, Lyndhurst. The Owner of Harry's Service Station on Park Ave. in Lyndhurst from the late 50's until 1975. Roy later worked as an Insurance Adjuster for Motor Club of America for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. A former parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Roy was a member of the
Queen of Peace Knights of Columbus Council #3428, North Arlington, the El Sheedy Caravan # 192 Order of Alhambra, where he served as Grand Commander, HEP (Helping Exceptional People), Lyndhurst, the Lyndhurst Elks Lodge, and was a
member and Past President of the Lyndhurst Lions Club.
Beloved husband for 66 years of Lottie (Pogoda). Devoted father of Roy and his wife Catherine of Millstone Twsp., Karen Aktouf and her husband Farid of Marlboro, and Gary and his wife Christine of W. Allenhurst. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Andrew, Matthew, Lauren, Nouri, Aidan, Sandra and Emily. Cherished great grandfather of Daphnie.

Funeral Thursday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting Wednesday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
