Rose M. (Palka) Chizmar, 79 of Clifton on November 28, 2009. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, Rose was a lifelong resident of Clifton. A parishioner of St. Paul's RC Church, Clifton, she was a 16 year member of American Legion Post #359. Rose was a Switchboard Operator for Beth Israel Hospital in Passaic for 10 years before retiring. Beloved wife of the late Steven "Tabby", who died in 1989. Devoted mother of the late Steven who died in 1995. Loving grandmother of Steven Chizmar and his mother Lorraine of Carltadt. Dear sister of Sophia Dudick of Sugar Notch, PA, Emily Gebhardt of Clifton, Viola Siwieick of Garfield, and the late Frank Palka. Funeral Thursday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Paul's RC Church. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
