Ronald S. Smolen, 82, son of Stephen Smolen and Mary (Tymko); of Atlantic County, NJ, passed away on March 4, 2025. Born in Passaic, NJ, he was raised in Clifton, and lived in Bergen County, NJ, for many years before settling in Mays Landing. He worked as a ceramic tile installer at Hugo Pulzatio for the early part of his life. He was employed with IBM and Lockheed Martin in the early 70's as a telecommunications network specialist for over 25 years before retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman. Ronald had a passion for mechanics by restoring cars and tractors; spending joyful endless hours tinkering.

Beloved husband for 44 years of Dorothy M. (Bemis) Smolen. Devoted father of Ronald S. Smolen, Jr. and his wife Tacy and Scott J. Smolen. Loving grandfather of Nicole L. Pearson and her husband Lee. Cherished great-grandfather of Stella and Nora Pearson. Dear brother of the late Sam Robert Smolen. Half-brother of Eric Pedersen, a relationship he was fortunate to develop later in his life. Ronald will be greatly missed by many loving nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

Visiting Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Tuesday 8:45AM at the funeral home and 10AM at Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Cathedral, 635 Broad Street, Clifton. Committal services will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, 255 Main Ave., Clifton.
