Rodney William Meyer, 90, of Stoney Point, NY, formerly of Wood-Ridge, passed away on February 12, 2014. Born in Weehawken, he lived in Hasbrouck Heights and Wood-Ridge, before moving to Stoney Point in 2007. An Army Veteran of WW II, Rod was the owner of Rodsco, Inc, a funeral supply company in Wood-Ridge, he founded in 1967. Rod was a member of the Wood-Ridge American Legion Post, and a longtime member of the Upper Montclair Country Club, Clifton, where he shot a hole-in-one. Beloved father of Jeff Meyer and his wife Marianne of Clifton, and Linda Vasi of Tamarac, FL. Loving grandfather of Tara Caminiti, Jonathan Meyer, Mike Vasi, Melissa Ready and the late Joseph Root. Dear great grandfather of Joseph Root, Justin, Ashley and Isabella Caminiti, and Kyle Ready. Also survived by his loving companion, Mary Lewis, an angel who kept him happy and smiling all the time. Rod was a man who knew how to live life to the fullest. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, 2-5 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, with a Memorial Prayer Service at 5 PM, followed by the Presentation of Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations made to your favorite charity in memory of Rod, would be greatly appreciated.
