Robert Swan, 88, of Glen Rock, NJ passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Born in Passaic, NJ, he was a longtime resident of Clifton before moving to Reflection Lakes in Equinunk, PA, “where he didn’t like the country, he loved it!”

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and campfires in Equinunk with his friends who were more like family. Robbie treasured time spent at the Jersey shore with the Van Duffelen and Machovsky families, boating, crabbing, deep sea fishing and going to the Boardwalk. Robbie will be remembered for his storytelling, kind heart and willingness to help others.

A 55-year member of United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers Local 10 of Haledon, Robbie was a roofer for 30 years prior to retiring. He looked forward to the annual Christmas party and had many fond memories of his time at the union hall.

Beloved son of the late Harry and Agnes (nee Vreeland) Swan. Dear brother of Albert and the late Daisy, Harry, Anna, Benjamin, Agnes, Willamina, Violet, Fredrick, Walter, Jacob, William, Leonard and Dolly Swan. Loving “father” of Peter Van Duffelen and the late Kimberley Van Duffelen. He is also survived by Peter’s family; wife, Maria and sons, Evan and Liam. He was predeceased by his loyal canine companions Teddy, Boots and Dusty.

Services and interment will be private.
