Robert Smith, 89, of Lake Hopatcong, formerly of Clifton, passed away on March 3, 2022. Born in Paterson, Robert was a resident of Clifton for most of his life. He was a US Army Veteran and member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Clifton. Robert worked as a heavy machine operator with Local 825 for many years before retiring.

Devoted husband for 66 years of Alice (Brouillette). Beloved father of Robert Smith and his wife Zivia of Manalapan, Patricia Babb and her husband Russell of Lake Hopatcong, Kenneth Smith and his wife Rhonda of Lincoln Park, and Michael Smith and his wife Sheryl of Hackettstown. Cherished grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 7. Dear brother of the late James Smith.

Cremation was private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton.
