Richard J. Vetanovetz, 81, of Clifton passed away on October 26, 2010. Born in Swoyersville, PA, he lived there before moving to Clifton in 1937.

An active parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Richard was a member of the Holy Name Society, sang in the Choir, served on the Parish Picnic Committee, and worked countless Communion Breakfasts. Gifted with a beautiful Tenor Voice, Richard was a 45 year member of the Chopin Singing Society in Passaic, and the Polish Singers Alliance of America.

A shop foreman for Tornqvist Co. formerly in Clifton, where he worked for 39 years, retiring in 1994, Richard served with the Army National Guard and was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post and the Slovak Catholic Sokol.

Beloved husband for 54 years of Josephine (Cyran). Devoted father of Richard P. and his wife Shawnee of Marysville, OH, Rita Lanaras and her husband Dennis of Cedar Grove, Judith Currier and her husband Daniel of Emerson, Susan Beeferman and her husband Richard of Kinnelon, Sarah Sayles and her husband Thomas of Budd Lake, and the late Maryann, who died in 1969. Dear brother of Dorothy Wyhopen of Succasunna, Romaine Majewski of Blairstown, and the late George. Loving grandfather of 12.

Funeral Saturday 8 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
