Richard E. Ricciardi of Clifton passed away on May 21, 2013. Born in the Bronx, NY, Richard lived in Paramus before moving to Clifton several years ago. Richard worked as a Defense Contractor for the Department of Defense, NJ, for 35 years before retiring in the early 1990's. A Navy Veteran of Korea, Richard was a member of the American Legion Post #8 and the V.F.W. Post #7165, both of Clifton. In his free time, Richard enjoyed astronomy and gardening. Beloved husband of Doris (Maynard) Ricciardi. Devoted father of Cynthia Giammanco and her husband Ciro of Saddle Brook, Debra Welsh of Albuquerque, NM, Sue Welsh and her husband Robin Ploense of Mesa, AZ, and Dr. Kenneth Welsh of Hackettstown. Cherished grandfather of 5 grandchildren. Funeral Saturday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Entombment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
