Richard Moroses, 86, of Clifton, formerly of Kearny, passed away on May 15, 2021. Born in Jersey City, Richard was raised and spent much of his life in Kearny before moving to Clifton in 1972. A US Army Veteran, he was a Carpenter for various companies throughout his career and was also a member of the NY Carpenters Union, where he helped to build the Twin Towers. Later, he was a courier for Prudential Life Insurance Co. before retiring to become the world's best babysitter for his grandchildren. Richard was an Avid NY Yankees fan who passed his love for the game to his children and grandchildren.
Everyone loved "Poppy" as he was affectionately called by all who knew him. He was great with children and a very skilled carpenter who always loved to help people with home renovations.
He was a soccer player in high school and was inducted to the Kearny High School hall of fame for soccer. He was also chosen as an All-State soccer player by the Newark News. He and his wife, Mary Ellen, loved to travel and visited many countries including Ireland, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany as well as a cross-country trip in the US. They would have celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary in September.

Devoted father of Mary Jo Roszkowski and her husband Damien of Pequannock, Linda Jean Grant of Atlanta, GA, and Richard Daniel Moroses and his wife Maria Cannataro of Frankford. Cherished grandfather of Jake, Jesse and Luke Roszkowski and Marley Jane Moroses. Dear brother of Michael Moroses of NYC. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Wednesday 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Thursday 8:45AM at the funeral home and 10AM at St. Clare RC Church, Clifton. Entombment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
