Richard William Mallon, 66, of Whiting, formerly of Clifton, passed away on February 21, 2014. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Guttenberg and Clifton for most of his life, before moving to Whiting 2 years ago. An Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, Richard was a member of the Albion VFW Post #7165, Clifton. A parishioner of the Wallington Presbyterian Church, Wallington, Richard served as a Deacon for many years, was a very active with the "Angels in Aprons", and was a Biddy Basketball Coach. Richard was a devoted "Raiders" Fan, an avid and enthusiastic fisherman, enjoyed Atlantic City and was known as a pool shark. Richard worked in Sales for AGL Welding Supply Co., in Clifton for 40 years, retiring 2 years ago. Beloved husband of Pamela (Sadowski). Devoted father of Wendy Legas of Brooklyn, CT, Kristie Williams and her husband Alan of Rockaway, and Toni Guzman and her husband Richard of Garfield. Loving grandfather of Madison Legas, Alan Williams, III, and Dylan Richard Williams. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and his three feline companions, Sammi, Thurman and Willie. Funeral Tuesday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at the Wallington Presbyterian Church, Wallington, Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
