Obituary

Richard Dorreman, 50 of Greensburg, passed away at 7:11 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2026.Known by family and friends as “Rich” or “Grit”, he was born on November 1, 1975 in Clifton, NJ, a son of Garret and Michele (Disparti) Dorreman.

Rich was graduate of Clifton High School and a Veteran of the US Coast Guard where he served in the Department of Homeland Security as a Chef and Culinary Specialist. He was awarded the Coast Guard Cutterman Insignia, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal with a Gold Star, and the Coast Guard Unit Commendation Ribbon. Following his military discharge, Rich worked as a Direct Support Professional with Transitional Options in Greensburg. He was an avid baseball card collector who enjoyed baking bread, cooking, and smoking meats.

Rich will be sadly missed by his loving family; his two children, Gabrielle Anthony and husband Tyler and Dean Dorreman, all of Greensburg and their mother, Courtney Kropp; his parents; his “soon to be born” grandchild; his sister, Lauri Christian of North Carolina; his two nieces, Katie and Isobel Christian; his three nephews, Jayson Christian and Justin and Ethan John; his former mother and father-in-law, Judy and Tom Brunner; his aunt, Sharon Hermann; his cousin, Danyell Hermann; and his loyal and faithful pet cat, Lily. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Tara (Brunner) John; his aunt Christine Disparti; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visiting Sunday, June 28, from 2 - 6 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Monday, June 29, 9:45 AM at the Funeral Home and 11 AM at Holy Trinity RC Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
