Obituary

Rebecca (Erlichman) Martin, RN, 83, of Clifton, passed away on February 25, 2013. Born in NYC, she lived in Passaic where she graduated from Passaic High School, before moving to Clifton in 1954. Rebecca graduated from the Nursing School at Passaic General Hospital, where she worked for 45 years as a Registered Nurse, O.R. Nurse and Head Nurse, and later volunteered at the hospital for an additional 10 years. An active member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Auxiliary, she held several offices and served in many capacities. Rebecca volunteered at the Clifton Boy's and Girl's Club Bingo, she enjoyed bowling at Van Houten Lanes, going to Atlantic City, taking her grandchildren to the movies, traveling, and spending many summers on Long Beach Island. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J., who passed away in 1976. Devoted mother of Thomas J. and his wife Inge Lise Kustrup-Martin of Lawrenceville, and George W. of Manahawkin. Loving grandmother of Kristen, Kaitlyn, Nicholas and Elizabeth. Dear sister of David Erlichman of Passaic, Fran Martin of Tampa, and the late Max and Danny Erlichman, and Minnie Campbell. Cherished sister in law of Bernice Erlichman. Also survived by special nieces Kimberly and Denise, several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Service Friday 12 noon at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 10AM to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Greenwood House Foundation, 53 Walter St., Ewing, NJ 08628, www.greenwoodhouse.org, in memory of Rebecca, would be greatly appreciated.
