Raymond A. Chitko, 92, of Clifton, passed away on May 20, 2015. Born in Wallington, he was a lifelong resident of Clifton. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Ray was a member of the Holy Name Society, served as an Usher for many years, and was a member of the Leisure Club. A proud veteran who served his country in the US Navy during WW II, Ray was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post, Clifton, and the Navy SeaBee Veterans of America, Red Bank. Ray was a Manager in Machine Design & Development for Becton Dickinson in East Rutherford for 38 years, retiring in 1985, and was a member of the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the BDAA Retirement Club. Ray also served as a Commissioner on the Clifton Zoning Board of Adjustments for many years. Beloved husband for 62 years of the late Bertha (Kobylarz) who passed away in 2012. Devoted father of Maryann Chitko and her husband Michael Moore of Warwick, NY, Christine Maguire of Monmouth, OR, Carol Chitko-McKown and her husband Richard of Juniata, NE, and the late Mary Theresa Chitko. Loving grandfather of Timothy and Darcy Maguire, and Geneva McKown. Dear brother of the late Leonard and Edmund. Funeral Wednesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Tuesday 3-7 PM at the funeral home.
