Raul Pacheco, 72, of Passaic, died peacefully on February 27, 2012, at home after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 21, 1939 where he spent his early years before growing up in NYC. A former parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, he was a loving and devoted husband and father and a caring friend to many. Raul served as a radar technician for nine years in the US Air Force. He enjoyed traveling the world and he spent many years in Japan and Majorca, Spain. Upon discharge, he settled in NYC where he met his future wife. After his marriage in 1974, he moved to Passaic where he raised his sons and enjoyed caring for his garden. He was also an avid Yankees fan. Before retiring, Raul was a security officer at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in NYC, at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic and at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson. After retiring he served as a volunteer at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center for many years. Beloved husband of Marjorie (Petruska). Devoted father of Paul A. and Eric M., both of Passaic. Dear brother of Felicita Fernandez of Virginia Beach, Carmen Delerme of Hollidaysburg, PA, Jose Manuel Alvarez, Arsenia, Otilia, Leticia, Jesus and Tomas Rodriguez, all of Puerto Rico. Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his little fuzzy companion, Hunter. Funeral Friday 11 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.
