Pratap Singh Jain, age 82, passed away on February 12, 2025. He was born on April 1st, 1942 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.
After graduating from IIT Kanpur, Pratapji earned his PhD from Agra College. He moved to the US and taught Chemistry as a professor at Wesleyan University before starting his own business, Royal Gems Inc., which has been in operation for 40+ years.

Pratapji was a loving husband, father, and grandfather above all. He enjoyed spending time with his family, from hosting a steady stream of visitors in New Jersey to traveling around the world with his wife, Kusum. He was deeply invested in his faith and was a strong pillar of the Jain Vishwa Bharathi community, helping play an instrumental role in the growth and programming of the organization.

Pratapji is survived by his wife, Kusum Jain; son Hemant Jain and his wife Kamini Jain; daughter Reena Bothra and her husband Niraj Bothra; and his four grandchildren, Aneesh Jain, Akshay Bothra, Sehar Jain, and Asheeta Bothra.

He is also survived by his siblings – Rani Mehta and her husband Bharat Mehta, Bhoopat Jain and his wife Madhu Jain; and his nieces and nephews, Rocky Mehta, Neera Mehta, Amit Jain, and Arpan Jain.

Visitation to pay last respects will be held at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ on February 14th from 10 AM – 12 PM.
