In Loving Memory of Dr. Pradeep Malankar
The world has bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Dr. Pradeep Malankar, whose life's journey was as diverse as the infectious diseases he dedicated himself to understanding. Born in the vibrant city of Mumbai, Pradeep's early years at Bombay Scottish School not only shaped his academic brilliance but also laid the foundation for his enduring passion for life.
An accomplished athlete during his days at Bombay Scottish, Pradeep's spirit soared on the track, his determination mirroring the resilience that would define his later pursuits in medicine atGS Seth Medical College.
After medical school Pradeep entered the field of infectious diseases and embarked on a global odyssey, lending his expertise to the fight against viral diseases in Oman, Ethiopia, and Geneva, leaving an indelible mark on the international medical community. His contributions found a home in esteemed journals like The Lancet, showcasing not only his intellectual prowess but also the compassionate heart that guided his work.
In 2010, Pradeep embraced a well-deserved retirement, settling in Rutherford, NJ, where he continued to channel the same passion that fueled his athletic pursuits into his community and family life. Alongside his beloved wife Rashmi, son Aditya, daughter Avani, daughter-in-law Nan, son-in-law Ilya, and three cherished grandchildren, Ilan, Liana, and Arden, Pradeep's legacy of love and warmth flourished.
Beyond his immediate family, Pradeep leaves behind a brother, Sandeep, and a sister, Mangala, who shared in the triumphs and joys of his multifaceted life. His loving extended family of cousins, aunts, and uncles in India are left with the rich tapestry of memories he created.
As we remember Pradeep, let us not only honor his profound contributions to the medical field but also celebrate the spirited man whose zest for life touched everyone he encountered. May his memory inspire us to embrace life with the same vigor and determination that defined his journey. May he rest in eternal peace.
Om Shanti
