Philip Maciag, 90, of Fairfield, passed away on February 9, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Florida, NY, Passaic, Paterson and Garfield, before moving to Fairfield 20 years ago. A parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church, Passaic, Philip was a Manager of the Engineering Department of NJ Transit in Newark, where he worked for many years, retiring in 1983. An Army Airforce Veteran of WW II, Philip was a longtime and dedicated member of American Legion Post # 185, Department of New Jersey for 52 years. Beloved husband for 66 years of Helen (Taran). Devoted father of Philip, Jr. of New Britian, CT, Judith Fizzarotti and her late husband Frank of Royersford, PA, and Dr. Peter Maciag, Sr., and his wife Nancy of Rockledge, FL. Loving grandfather of Peter, Jr., Francis, III, Dr. Sarah, and Eric. Cherished great grandfather of Madison, Mary Jo, Alexander, Logan, Campbell and Jason. Funeral Saturday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Joseph's RC Church, Passaic. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
