Petronila Piscoya, 92, of Paterson, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. Born in Lima, Peru, she came to the United States in 1998 and made Paterson her home, where she built a life filled with love, faith, and family.

Her Catholic faith, especially her devotion to the Lord of Miracles (Señor de los Milagros), remained an important part of her life. She loved her children and family dearly, always finding joy in caring for them, sharing meals, and spending time together. She spoke her mind with honesty and a touch of humor, a quality her family will never forget.

She was the beloved wife of the late Francisco Piscoya, who passed away in 2003. A devoted mother, she leaves behind her children Ignacio, Luis, Alejandro, Roxana and Maychol. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Marilyn, Omar, Jordan, Marvin, Gabriel, Yamilah, Mischelle, and Alessia. She is also survived by her dear brother Mario Ruiz Calderon and predeceased by her sister, Esperanza Ruiz Calderon.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the wake on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 5 PM –9 PM at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, NJ. The family is invited to the Funeral Mass on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Clifton, NJ, followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.

Petronila Piscoya, de 92 años, residente de Paterson, falleció pacíficamente el 3 de septiembre de 2025. Nacida en Lima, Perú, emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1998 y estableció su hogar en Paterson, donde construyó una vida llena de amor, fe y dedicación a su familia.

Su fe católica, en especial su devoción al Señor de los Milagros, fue siempre un pilar fundamental en su vida. Amaba profundamente a sus hijos y a toda su familia; encontraba gran alegría en cuidarlos, compartir momentos y disfrutar de su compañía. Se caracterizaba por decir las cosas con honestidad y un toque de humor, algo que su familia siempre recordará con cariño.

Fue la querida esposa de Francisco Piscoya, quien falleció en 2003. Como madre dedicada, deja a sus hijos Ignacio, Luis, Alejandro, Roxana y Maychol. Fue una abuela orgullosa y amorosa de Marilyn, Omar, Jordan, Marvin, Gabriel, Yamilah, Mischelle y Alessia. También le sobreviven su querido hermano Mario Ruiz Calderon  y le precedió en la muerte su hermana, Esperanza Ruiz Calderon.

Familiares y amigos están invitados al velorio el jueves 11 de septiembre de 2025, de 5 a 9 PM en Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, NJ. La familia participará en la Misa Funeral y el entierro el viernes 12 de septiembre de 2025, a las 10 AM en St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church en Clifton, NJ, y luego el entierro en Holy Sepulchre Cemetery en Totowa, NJ.
