Peter Plishka, 90, of Clifton, passed away on November 4, 2015. Born in Clifton, he was a lifelong resident. A parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Peter was a Salesman for Drakes Cakes in East Brunswick for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Peter enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Earlier this year he celebrated his 90th Birthday with a party in his back yard with family and friends. Beloved husband for 66 years of Helen (Backes). Devoted father of Richard of Clifton, Edward and his late wife Sandra of Wood Ridge, Gary and his late wife Linda of Clifton, Barbara Wojcik and her husband John of Youngsville, NC, Peter, Jr., and his wife Suzie of Avondale Estates, GA, Robert and his wife Patricia of Towaco, and the late Linda Plishka. Dear step father of the late Gordon Tomea and his wife Ann of Maplewood. Loving grandfather of Christine, Christopher, Michael, Alexander, Stefann, Victoria, Meredith, Laura, David, Allison, Randall, Simon and Sophie. Predeceased by six brothers and one sister, all from Clifton. Funeral Monday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Sunday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
