Peter P. Gabel, 87, of Winter Springs, FL, passed away on September 21, 2011. Born in Kattschutz, Germany, he came to the US in 1964 and lived in Paterson before moving to Winter Springs several years ago. A former parishioner of St. George's RC Church, Paterson, Peter was an Electrician for Higdon Elevator in Hackensack for 25 years, retiring in 1993 and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Beloved husband of the late Laura (Jara) who passed away in 1986. Devoted father of Joseph and his wife Lori of Clifton, Beatrice Cooper of Budd Lake, Irene Bemis and her husband Todd of Georgia, and the late Peter J. who passed away in 2009. Dear brother of Helen Gabel of Belgium and the late Alfons who passed away in 1991. Loving grandfather of Jeramie, Shawn, David, Ryan, Laura, Elliot and Mallory. Cherished uncle of Hans and Elke. Funeral Thursday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Interment, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
